National Transport Manager- BCH
Big Chief Heavy Haulage is expanding fast, and we’re looking for a Heavy Haulage Transport Manager who can take charge of our local and interstate operations. We’re on the hunt for a hands-on Transport Manager whose confident leading people, coordinating complex loads, managing compliance, and keeping everything running safely and smoothly.
We move the big stuff — excavators, dump trucks, rollers and loaders — from SA to interstate. From B-doubles to road trains, we keep the construction and civil world turning. If you’ve got heavy haulage in your blood, this is your next move.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and coordinate interstate road trains, local heavy haulage, from b-double to single trailer combinations locally in South Australia and interstate
- Manage the transport of machinery — excavators, dump trucks, skid steers, rollers, loaders and other heavy plant
- Lead and support a team of experienced drivers and logistics staff
- Plan routes, permits and schedules — balancing efficiency, compliance and safety
- Build and maintain great relationships with clients and the wider Big Chief network
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in heavy haulage or machinery transport management
- Strong knowledge of NHVR, OHS and oversize load and compliance
- Practical understanding of what it takes to safely load, secure and move heavy plant
- Confident communicator and natural problem-solver who leads from the front
- Calm under pressure, proactive, and committed to getting the job done right
