WH&S and Compliance Co-ordinator

This is a hands-on role in Burton, where you’ll work closely with management and operational teams to maintain strong safety and compliance standards across our transport operations. You’ll play an important part in strengthening our safety culture, improving systems and ensuring our people return home safely every day.

 

About the Role

As our WHS & Compliance Coordinator, you’ll coordinate a range of WHS and compliance activities across multiple operational locations. You’ll help keep our systems up to date, support our teams with practical safety advice and ensure we continue to meet legislative and industry requirements.

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and maintain the company’s WHS Management System, ensuring documentation is current, compliant and audit ready.
• Support WHS compliance across multiple sites and operational locations.
• Maintain accurate WHS records, reporting systems and documentation.
• Manage WHS data, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Provide practical WHS guidance and support to managers and operational teams.
• Monitor changes to WHS legislation, regulations and transport industry requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of NHVR requirements and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
• Coordinate and support CoR training, verification and record keeping.
• Assist with risk assessments, hazard identification, inspections and audits.
• Support workplace improvements and corrective actions.
• Assist with safety communications, toolbox talks and employee engagement.
• Build positive relationships across the business and promote a proactive safety culture.

 

About You

We’re looking for a motivated safety professional who enjoys being hands-on, working with people and finding practical solutions.

 

You will ideally have:

• Experience in WHS, compliance, risk management or safety coordination within a transport or similar environment.
• A strong understanding of heavy vehicle operations, NHVR requirements and Chain of Responsibility.
• Experience managing WHS documentation, reporting, audits and compliance systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A practical and solutions-focused approach.
• The ability and willingness to travel between operational sites.

 

Qualifications & Experience

The following would be highly regarded:

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Experience working with WHS management systems and compliance functions.
• Internal auditing experience.
• Experience in heavy vehicle, transport, logistics or equipment hire industries.
• Knowledge of relevant state-based WHS legislation.
